{"id":890,"date":"2012-09-09T17:30:09","date_gmt":"2012-09-09T23:30:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.mooreds.com\/wordpress\/?p=890"},"modified":"2012-09-28T12:26:38","modified_gmt":"2012-09-28T18:26:38","slug":"a-tale-of-two-mobile-app-development-program-applications","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.mooreds.com\/wordpress\/archives\/890","title":{"rendered":"A Tale of Two Mobile App Development Program Applications"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I just can&#8217;t believe the difference in the application process between Google (for <a href=\"https:\/\/play.google.com\/apps\/publish\/\">Google Play<\/a>) and Apple (for the App Store).<\/p>\n<p>For Google, I had to<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>sign in to a Google account<\/li>\n<li>give them an email address and a phone number<\/li>\n<li>agree to terms and conditions<\/li>\n<li>pay $25 (but make sure you have a valid Google Wallet account!)<\/li>\n<li>wait for the registration to be processed<\/li>\n<li>invite other developers in my company<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For Apple (where I need to register as a corporation) I had to<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Upgrade a mac to Lion<\/li>\n<li>Start the signup process<\/li>\n<li>Realize that the company doesn&#8217;t have an updated Dun and Bradstreet profile<\/li>\n<li>Call Dun and Bradstreet<\/li>\n<li>Be sent to http:\/\/iupdate.dnb.com\/ to update the profile<\/li>\n<li>Find out who the executive officers of the company were<\/li>\n<li>Get them to sign up to update the profile<\/li>\n<li>Update the profile<\/li>\n<li>Submit it<\/li>\n<li>Wait for over 5 business days<\/li>\n<li>Resubmit my application to Apple<\/li>\n<li>Get rejected again because they didn&#8217;t recognize the company as a legal entity<\/li>\n<li>Exchange a couple of emails with Apple employees<\/li>\n<li>Determine what the rejection is possibly because I didn&#8217;t want for D&amp;B to update the Apple database (up to 14 business days!)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>And all that is before I can see (and agree to) the terms of use and pay the $99\/year, and get my application processed.<\/p>\n<p>Whew.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I just can&#8217;t believe the difference in the application process between Google (for Google Play) and Apple (for the App Store).
