{"id":700,"date":"2011-03-02T09:01:09","date_gmt":"2011-03-02T15:01:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.mooreds.com\/wordpress\/?p=700"},"modified":"2011-03-02T09:01:09","modified_gmt":"2011-03-02T15:01:09","slug":"how-to-connect-a-jabra-vbt2050-earpiece-to-a-palm-centro","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.mooreds.com\/wordpress\/archives\/700","title":{"rendered":"How to connect a Jabra VBT2050 earpiece to a Palm Centro"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Everyone should use an earpiece.\u00a0 My SO is reading <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Disconnect-Radiation-Industry-Protect-Family\/dp\/0525951946\">&#8220;Disconnect: the truth about cell phone radiation, what the industry has done to hide it, and how to protect your family&#8221;<\/a> and it&#8217;s some scary stuff.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve struggled with setting up my earpiece enough times that I want to document what I did just now.\u00a0 There are a lot of instructions on the internet, but they all seem incomplete, or aimed at a different phone.\u00a0 Here&#8217;s the <a href=\"http:\/\/img9.jabra.com\/sites\/Jabra\/GNImages\/Products\/WirelessHeadset\/BT2050\/Documents\/BT2050_UM_EM_UK_6114.pdf\">Jabra manual<\/a> (PDF), even though it isn&#8217;t much help.<\/p>\n<p>So, here are my step by step instructions on how to connect my AT&amp;T Palm Centro with my Jabra VBT2050 earpiece.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Turn off the earpiece by holding down the side button until you see 4 fast blinks.\u00a0 Disconnect it from the charger.<\/li>\n<li>Then, turn off bluetooth on the phone.\u00a0 Disconnect it from the charger.<\/li>\n<li>Turn on the bluetooth on your phone<\/li>\n<li>Make sure your phone&#8217;s bluetooth setting is &#8216;visible&#8217;<\/li>\n<li>On the phone, choose &#8216;setup devices&#8217;<\/li>\n<li>Choose &#8216;trusted devices&#8217;<\/li>\n<li>Choose &#8216;add device&#8217;<\/li>\n<li>Turn on the Jabra earpiece by holding down the button you used to turn it off<\/li>\n<li>Continue to hold the on\/off button down until you see it blinking three times slowly.<\/li>\n<li>Press the center button of the earpiece (the one you use to connect\/disconnect calls) for about 10-20 seconds, until the light on the earpiece is steady.<\/li>\n<li>Choose &#8216;find more&#8217; on your phone.<\/li>\n<li>Select the Jabra earpiece.<\/li>\n<li>Choose &#8216;OK&#8217;<\/li>\n<li>Enter the passcode: 0000 (I&#8217;ve not found a way to change this, which seems rather idiotic).<\/li>\n<li>Choose &#8216;OK&#8217;\u00a0 You should now be at the &#8216;Trusted devices&#8217; screen.<\/li>\n<li>Select the Jabra earpiece from the list<\/li>\n<li>Press the menu key on your Centro.\u00a0 It&#8217;s next to the &#8216;Alt&#8217; key.<\/li>\n<li>Select &#8216;Connect&#8217;.\u00a0 The earpiece should be blinking one time slowly.<\/li>\n<li>Click &#8216;OK&#8217; on out.\u00a0 You should see a blue set of headphones next to your bars when you get to the main screen.<\/li>\n<li>You can change your phone&#8217;s bluetooth visibility to &#8216;hidden&#8217;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Hope this helps!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Everyone should use an earpiece.\u00a0 My SO is reading &#8220;Disconnect: the truth about cell phone radiation, what the industry has done to hide it, and how to protect your family&#8221; [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[7,37],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-700","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-mobile-technology","category-tips"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.mooreds.com\/wordpress\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/700","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.mooreds.com\/wordpress\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.mooreds.com\/wordpress\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.mooreds.com\/wordpress\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.mooreds.com\/wordpress\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=700"}],"version-history":[{"count":1,"href":"https:\/\/www.mooreds.com\/wordpress\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/700\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":701,"href":"https:\/\/www.mooreds.com\/wordpress\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/700\/revisions\/701"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.mooreds.com\/wordpress\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=700"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.mooreds.com\/wordpress\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=700"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.mooreds.com\/wordpress\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=700"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
