{"id":659,"date":"2010-11-20T16:41:26","date_gmt":"2010-11-20T22:41:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.mooreds.com\/wordpress\/?p=659"},"modified":"2010-11-20T16:41:26","modified_gmt":"2010-11-20T22:41:26","slug":"how-to-get-the-gwt-developer-browser-plugin","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.mooreds.com\/wordpress\/archives\/659","title":{"rendered":"How to get the GWT developer browser plugin"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/code.google.com\/webtoolkit\/overview.html\">Google Web Toolkit developer plugin<\/a>, which integrates with a variety of browsers and lets you debug GWT code from within the Eclipse IDE, is astonishingly easy to get, but I haven&#8217;t found any great instructions, so I wrote this brief post.<\/p>\n<p>You just need to start your IDE, <a href=\"http:\/\/code.google.com\/webtoolkit\/doc\/latest\/DevGuideCompilingAndDebugging.html#DevGuideDevMode\">start up any application in Development mode<\/a>, and then visit the address the development mode server is running on in your browser (it will look something like this: &#8220;http:\/\/localhost:8080\/host.html&amp;gwt.codesvr=127.0.0.1:9997&#8221; if you are running off an external server&#8211;not sure what it looks like for folks using embedded jetty). It will send you to the <a href=\"http:\/\/gwt.google.com\/samples\/MissingPlugin\/MissingPlugin.html\">&#8216;Missing Plugin&#8217;<\/a> page (or you can go there directly).<\/p>\n<p>Some browsers are not supported (Safari on Windows is one I know of).
