{"id":2513,"date":"2017-12-07T09:26:04","date_gmt":"2017-12-07T15:26:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.mooreds.com\/wordpress\/?p=2513"},"modified":"2017-12-07T09:26:22","modified_gmt":"2017-12-07T15:26:22","slug":"hiring","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.mooreds.com\/wordpress\/archives\/2513","title":{"rendered":"Hiring: Apples and Oranges"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I ran across this <a href=\"http:\/\/anonymoushash.vmbrasseur.com\/2017\/10\/12\/dont-hire-team-members-like-theyre-consultants\/\">great article about hiring<\/a> in my twitter feed.\u00a0 (Incidentally, the author is <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/vmbrasseur\/status\/938103408648531968\">seeking employment<\/a> at the moment.)\u00a0 Here&#8217;s the author&#8217;s take on what&#8217;s wrong with hiring in tech today:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Job postings focus on the current tooling and products rather than factor in future plans. Interviews focus on the immediate technical knowledge and abilities of candidates, rather than on the candidates\u2019 capabilities for learning and adapting.
